Questions before switching
It can be. Shopify’s all-states format compares On hand (current) with the live quantity and rejects stale rows. Clearing the current-value column removes that protection, so it should be retained during a stocktake.
Yes. Shopify can export all locations, with a separate row for each variant and location in the all-states format.
ShelfTally replaces the file handoff between physical counting, variance calculation, manager review, and selected inventory adjustments. It does not currently replace the need for a physical zone checklist to prove every variant was counted.
CSV is a good fit for an occasional bulk update, especially when every catalog row must be enumerated and your team already has a controlled spreadsheet process.
